As a child growing up, I watched my father work for others and for himself. During this time, I learned that working for one-self reaped more benefits than working for somebody else. Not only was my father financially better off working for himself, but more importantly, he was happier. It was then that I hoped to open my own business in the future.

Nothing happened right away, I worked for two local companies before I began working along side my father in his small maintenance company. After working for him for some time, and watching his success, I was determined to open my own business.

In February of 1995, I walked into a friend's pager business and I mentioned to him that I was interested in opening a business of my own, unknowing of what it would be. He suggested that I open a pager store. I asked some questions about the business and it sounded like there was ample opportunity. So I said, “Why not?” I was a little apprehensive about opening a business alone, so I decided to bring in a friend as a partner.

It wasn't long before we found our first location in Taunton , Massachusetts on April 15, 1995. We sold pagers, pager service and accessories. Fittingly, we named the company Beeper Connections .
